The Middle East has been steadily building some of the most stunning infrastructure for business and hospitality over the past few decades, and the results are finally starting to show. Dubai is now a major hub for international conferences and exhibitions, hosting over 400 annually. Abu Dhabi has become a world class destination for culture and luxury, while Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 programme is really opening up the region to corporate tourism. And across the board, the quality of hotels, venues, food and entertainment is consistently surprising international planners who arrive with lower expectations
At Uniqueworld, we operate across the Middle East and here’s our take on the Middle East’s corporate event scene for 2026.
Dubai – the Numbers
- 400+ international conferences a year
- 12 degrees Celsius in January: perfect for events
- just 3 hours from London by air (quicker than many a domestic flight in the US)
Why the Middle East is so Good for Corporate Groups
There are a few reasons why the Middle East is so popular with corporate events, and it all starts with the infrastructure. Dubai’s hotels, conference centres and event spaces are among the best in the world, thanks to some serious investment. The Dubai World Trade Centre, the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City and the amazing event spaces in the city’s top hotels mean that groups of any size can host world class events.
But the real reason the Middle East stands out is the combination of convenience and culture. You can fly in from Europe, Asia or Africa with ease, from London it’s just a 3 hour flight, from New York 8 hours and from most Asian cities under 5. And when you land, you’re straight into a place that’s unlike anywhere else: a city of epic scale and ambition that’s guaranteed to get your delegates excited
DMC Insight
One thing that catches international planners off guard about hosting events in Dubai is that it’s not all about the city itself. The desert is right there, the Hajar Mountains too, Abu Dhabi’s Cultural District and the Red Sea coast in Saudi Arabia, all just a short hop from the main airports. So think outside the hotel lobby and use the region’s amazing landscape as the backdrop for your events.
The Must See Destinations for Corporate Programmes
Dubai
The region’s corporate events capital. Dubai offers world class conference spaces, iconic venues, a killer hotel scene and a food and drink scene that’s come on leaps and bounds over the last decade. Ideal for big conferences, product launches and high impact incentive programmes.
Abu Dhabi
The UAE‘s capital and a more laid back alternative to Dubai. With the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Yas Island on the doorstep, you’ve got culture, luxury and entertainment all wrapped up in one. Getting more popular every year for leadership conferences and incentive programmes that want to add some depth to the mix
Saudi Arabia
The Red Sea coast and Riyadh are finally opening up to international corporate tourism – and fast. You’ve got NEOM, the Red Sea Project and Diriyah (a UNESCO listed site just outside Riyadh) all offering early adopter programmes that are only just starting to get on the corporate radar. For those who want to be ahead of the curve, Saudi Arabia in 2026 is the perfect opportunity.
Oman
Sultanate of Oman, and the place to go for groups that want a mix of natural beauty and cultural authenticity. The Omani desert, Muscat’s stunning waterfront and the Hajar Mountains all add up to a uniquely different experience from Dubai’s urban energy.
Signature Experiences for Corporate Groups

A Desert Overnighter
Get your delegates out of the hotel and into the Middle East’s most iconic landscape: the desert. A private desert camp with luxury Bedouin inspired tents and activities like camel riding and sandboarding will give you an experience that no ballroom can replicate. And for the really big groups, you can even hire out a whole desert camp.
Exclusive Yacht Events on the Dubai Creek or Marina
Imagine mooring up on the Dubai Creek at sunset and hosting an event that’s as unique as it is memorable. Whether you’re looking for a big conference or just a private party for a select few, the yachts on the Dubai Creek and Marina offer the perfect setting. Dubai’s waterways, the historic Creek and modern Marina, offer fantastic backdrops for exclusive yacht events. A sunset cruise along Dubai Creek, against the backdrop of old merchant dhows and a glittering contemporary skyline, is a breathtaking experience that delegates from all over wont soon forget. Larger boats can accommodate full group dining, entertainment & dancing while the city lights twinkling behind make the whole experience truly magic.
Private Cultural Access: Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Mosque
Abu Dhabis stunning Louvre museum is one of the worlds most architecturally extraordinary buildings, and when you get private access for corporate dining and receptions as part of your programme, you get to be somewhere truly special. Thats because your group gets to experience a setting thats defining the 21st century, in a manner that will leave a lasting impression on your colleagues from all around the world. Similarly, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque offers a serenely atmospheric tour experience tailored for corporate groups, one that leaves delegates, from all cultural backgrounds, feeling a deep sense of awe.
Driving Experiences Adrenaline Fuelling Dubai
The Dubai Autodrome offers a world-class driving experience at the circuit, while the desert surrounding it offers a range of 4×4 and dune driving experiences that make the most of the landscape. If adrenaline and competition are a top priority for your programme, then the Middle East delivers in a way that cant be found anywhere else, with breathtaking natural scenery to boot.
Gastronomic Dubai Top Class Dining
Dubai’s dining scene has come a long way in recent years and now offers a world-beating line up of high-end restaurants, in fact its challenging London, Paris & New York for quality. And with private dining experiences at altitude available, perched high in the Burj Khalifa or other landmark towers, plus insider knowledge of Dubs up and coming restaurant scene (in Al Quoz & Alserkal Avenue for example) your programme can deliver an experience that is a million miles from run-of-the-mill.
Planning Considerations: What You Need to Know
PERIOD – CONDITIONS – PROGRAMME SUITABILITY
October – April
Lovely weather: 18-30 degrees Celcius, clear blue skies, low humidity. Great for all outdoor activities, plus city breaks. Book your venues 6-12 months in advance though – peak season.
May – September
It’s hot: 35-45 degrees with high humidity. Not ideal for outdoor stuff, but then again you could do some great early morning desert adventures and then retreat to an air-conditioned oasis for the rest of the day. Plus, your event costs will be lower – as long as you can put up with the heat.
Ramadan (variable)
Still pretty normal temperature-wise, but an important thing to bear in mind is that alcohol cant be served in public, though private venues and hotels are fine. Daytime catering might be a bit adjusted too; cultural sensitivity makes all the difference so do give your group a bit of a heads up about what to expect.
Working in the Middle East – Brief your delegates
If your group is off to the Middle East for the first time, then you’ll want to give them a quick briefing on local customs, dress codes for when you go out, the significance of certain gestures, how to approach business; all the little things that can make all the difference and make your event run smoothly.
Alcohol and F&B
So, what about booze in Dubai & Abu Dhabi? The answer is that they’re pretty relaxed about it. You’ll find public venues and hotels with alcohol on tap, and the food scene is totally international. That’s music to the ears of groups from Europe & North America. Of course, if you have a programme in Saudi Arabia then things are very different, you’ll need to design the whole thing around F&B that cant include alcohol – though the quality of the alternative options is still pretty high, worth trying some of the local stuff and giving your delegates a taste of something new.
