Dubai 24 Hour Race Programme for Incentive Travel Companies

Dubai is arguably in the top three long haul incentive destinations and with requests typically coming in with short lead time Uniqueworld can expect a busy next few months with incentive travel companies. In addition to the attraction of a warm climate, exceptional shopping, luxury five star hotels, glorious beaches Uniqueworld DMCs goes one step beyond to incorporate special events and sporting activities to create WOW incentive travel programmes.

In just over two months’ time, a variety of international race teams and drivers will assemble at Dubai Autodrome for the ninth running of the Dunlop 24H DUBAI  (January 9th till 11th, 2014). Anticipation for the first international endurance race of the new calendar year for GTs, touring cars and 24H specials is rising: later this month, a total of 70 freight containers of 40ft each with cars and equipment will already get underway to Dubai from Rotterdam and various other ports all over the world.

The entry list for the event looks impressive for any incentive travel company. With Abu Dhabi by Black Falcon, entering a pair of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3s, and Saudi Falcons Team Schubert with two BMW Z4 GT3s, former winners of the race are on the grid, but there are also plenty of other teams in the A6/GT3 category with such varied machinery as Porsche 997 GT3 R, Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, Dodge Viper, McLaren MP4-12C GT3 and the eagerly-awaited new Bentley Continental GT3. Among the drivers are five times’ DTM champion, Bernd Schneider, Le Mans winner, Guy Smith, world touring car champion Rob Huff, two times’ Porsche Supercup champion, ALMS class champion and Le Mans class winner, Jeroen Bleekemolen. The SP2 and SP3 classes include plenty of variety as well, from the Renault Mégane Trophy and GC Automobile silhouette cars to Saker and Ginetta sports cars. Brands like BMW, SEAT, Volkswagen, Opel, Renault, Mini, Honda and Suzuki are represented in the touring car classes.

Last week we had an amazing event in Dubai – Dunlop 24 Hour race Dubai – and happy to announce that Swiss team Stadler Motorsport has won the ninth running of the Dunlop 24H DUBAI with its Porsche 997 GT3 R. After 603 laps at the Dubai Autodrome, equaling a total distance of 3,250.17 kilometers, Swiss Rolf Ineichen drove the winning car with starting number 20 across the finish line to take the chequered flag. Ineichen shared driving duties with his compatriots Mark Ineichen, Marcel Matter and Adrian Amstutz, as well as German Christian Engelhart.
This is the first-ever race win in the Dunlop 24H DUBAI for a Swiss team and the fourth victory for Porsche after earlier race wins in 2008, 2009 and 2010, making the brand from Stuttgart the manufacturer with the most overall wins in history of the race. Two Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 cars finished second and third. The ALLINKL.COM Munich Motorsport team ended up second with drivers René Münnich, Rob Huff and Marc Basseng in the gullwing sportscar with starting number 38 while the Team Abu Dhabi by Black Falcon was classified third with its number 2 car, driven by Khaled Al Qubaisi, Jeroen Bleekemolen, Abdulaziz Turki Al Faisal, Hubert Haupt and Adam Christodoulou.
