The Algarve

The Algarve is the most southern region of Portugal. It is well known for its beautiful beaches. It is Portugals biggest and most important tourist destination. According to an American based study, it is the world’s best place to retire.

Worth a visit are the Ria Formosa, the Monchique mountain, the Caldeirão mountains, the Sagres cape, Lagos, the Silves castle, the Foia peak, and the Via Algarviana hiking trail.
