Salzburg

Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria. Its old town is one of the best preserved city centres and is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Due to its three universities, there is a large student population. the city was the birthplace of 18^th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and was the setting for the 20^th-century musical and film The Sound of Music.

Worth a visit are the Schloss Hellbrunn, the Getreidegasse, the Hohensalzburg Fortress, Mozarts birth house, the Alter Markt Square, Mozart Residence, the Schloss Mirabell, the Salzburg Cathedral, the Salzburg Museum, the Toy Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the Salzburg Museum of Modern Art, the Residence Gallery Salzburg, the St. Sebastian Cemetery, St Peter's Church, Cemetery and Catacombs, the Untersberg, the Kapuzinerberg, and Stiegl-Brauwelt.
