Oman

Oman is a country in the Middle East on the south eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, bordering the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. Oman also has two exclaves located in the UAE: the Musandam Peninsula and Madha. It is a member of the United Nations, the Arab League, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Its capital is Muscat.

Oman is well known for its historic forts and towers, and its mountains. Worth a visit are the Jalali and Mirani forts, Bahla Fort, its many wadis, its huge desert dunes at Wahiba Sands, its very long beaches, Masirah Island, and Muscat's Grand Mosque.
