Montreal is the largest city of the Québec province in Canada, located on an island in the St Lawrence River. It has a reputation of being one of the liveliest cities in North America. Montreal is the second largest French speaking city in the world, after Paris. It is often called the Paris of Canada. Montreal is a Unesco City of Design, and it is ranked the best city in the world to be a university student.

Montreal is the centre of culture, arts, computer technology, aerospace, biotechnology and media of Canada. Worth a visit are its many festivals, Vieux-Montréal, the Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica, the Place des Arts, the Queen of the World Cathedral, the St Patrick's Basilica, the Saint Joseph's Oratory, Le Plateau, the Parc Jean-Drapeau, and Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
