Mallorca or Majorca is the largest island of the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain. They are located in the Mediterranean, east of Spain and south of France. The other islands are Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera. Palma de Mallorca is both the capital of the island and of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands.
Mallorca is well known for its sunny beaches, its amazing landscapes, its beautiful mountains and its affordable Mediterranean food. It is an extremely popular tourist destination, but the inhabitants have an excellently organised tourist infrastructure. The most visited parts of Mallorca are: Palma de Mallorca, the Tramuntana mountain range, the Palma beach, Valldemossa and Soller.
