Lhasa

Lhasa is the district and administrative capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. Its main urban area is roughly equivalent to the administrative borders of the Chengguan District. Lhasa is the second most populous city of Tibet, after Xining, and it is one of the highest cities in the world, located on the northern slopes of the Himalayas. The eastern part of the city has many Tibetan influences, while the western part is more like any other Chinese city.

Visit the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, the Norbulingka Palaces, the Barkhor Street Market, the Drepung Monastery, the Sera Monastery, and the Tibet Museum.
