Latvia

Latvia is a Baltic state in northern Europe, bordering Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, and Belarus. Its capital and most visited city is Riga, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Latvia is known for its magnificent beaches, its waterfalls, its medieval castle ruins, its unspoilt sea coasts, and its many forests and nature parks, but also for its folklore, its dances and its songs.

Worth a stop are the Riga Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, Riga’s old quarter, the Turaida Castle, the Gutmanis Cave, the Gauja valley, the cities of Liepāja, Karosta, Cesis, Kuldīga, Daugavpils and Jelgava.
