Egypt

Egypt is a transcontinental country in north east Africa and south west Asia, bordering Israel, Sudan and Libya. It connects the two continents via the Sinai Peninsula. Its capital and largest city is Cairo. Egypt is the most populous country in North Africa, the Middle East, and the Arab world. It is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. It is a founding member of the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Arab League, the African Union, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

Egypt is well known for its history, its temples, its hieroglyphs, its mummies, and its pyramids, but it also has a medieval heritage, with ancient churches, monasteries and mosques.
